We Need Smarter People if We Are Going to Survive
(Part Two)

At the very moment I rocketed to the top I was destroyed. It fits perfectly within the context of this article that a greedy overweight middle-aged businessman would orchestrate my demise. As an Amsco executive he had access to my solarium plans which he had borrowed the night before the show, and the list of dealerships signed on at the show. He quit his Amsco position the day after the show and took both with him, soon manufacturing my design and selling it to what were supposed to be our customers. I learned later that he had become very wealthy.

As a result of that event, what I had learned earlier became clear. I knew that my demise, the public resistance to solar energy, and a host of environmental and many other types of problems were all a result of a much bigger, deeper and older problem. I stepped back to think about what had happened to me after the energy show, and with a little introspection quickly reaffirmed what I had always known, that the state of this man's consciousness, represented the problem—his actions were one miniscule manifestation of a collective error in consciousness.

The destruction of the environment is a result of how man sees himself—the way he conceptualizes his relationship with reality and the earth. A handful of core beliefs each person adopts through enculturation produce ideas which lead to criminal or selfish actions on the part of millions. Beliefs, thoughts and emotions determine a person's actions in life. It's the state of humanity's consciousness that is responsible for and produces the greed and the rape of the earth and thus our children. Good learning that goes deep will solve the problem, especially when youth are the recipients of the education being offered. What we need is a shift in consciousness whereby our current way of thinking about the world changes. Einstein once said, “The problems that face us cannot be solved at the same level of consciousness that created them.” What we need is a shift in consciousness. The younger one is, the easier it is to achieve.

Luckily I knew these truths as a boy, and so after the aforementioned theft of my solarium business at the Hartford energy show I set my sights higher, to solve a more fundamental problem of huge proportions. This was an issue of our basic conscious makeup as is passed down through norms and enculturation, the resolution of which would cure far more than just environmental destruction.

I didn't at first succeed here either, however, because prior to publication my manuscript and back-up disks for my book YOUR FUTURE, on how to solve all of humanity's problems and bring about an ideal future was stolen by agents of law enforcement and government.

There's a constructive purpose in my saying this. I'm making a point. It's the thinking behind the problem that's most difficult to change, and represents the deepest level of the problem—the actual core and cause of all our social, criminal, and environmental problems. It's humanity's state of conscious evolution and our deepest philosophical beliefs and values in regard to humanity's nature, role and purpose, and in relation to the nature of reality and the earth that has given us our rapidly deteriorating condition. We need smarter people if we are to survive.
