Even if you haven’t lost your job, look into our publications, because the concept of Right Livelihood tells us that in the long run we will make more money and obviously find far more happiness by doing what we love and making it our career, than we would by following any other seemingly more practical path.
If you have recently lost your job, it’s important to get back on your feet as soon as possible. The lack of certainty and pay is frustrating, and may be disastrous for many people, and thus takes its toll. It’s important, therefore, that while you are in this period of uncertainty, to use it to prepare and better situate yourself for the future.
Not being locked into a job has certain potential advantages. It means that anything is possible. It must never be forgotten that with uncertainty comes the possibility of great improvement that at other times in your life didn’t exist. For this reason, the times of greatest flux or change in our lives are precisely where we will find our greatest opportunity. You can adopt a new worldview, get a much better job, make a lot more money, improve any and all conditions in your life, even do what you want with your life. But only if you know how.
People don’t typically make the really big life changes when everything’s okay. It’s when people are at the bottom that things happen. It’s then that lives and fortunes change for the better.
